LIGHTWEIGHT MOVES - HEAVYWEIGHT PUNCH The new 848 enjoys all the performance advancements of the entire Superbike family, while adding its own innovations to redefine the middleweight sport bike class.
The words 'agile' and 'refined' aptly describe the 848. At 168 kg (369 lbs) the 848 is an amazing 20 kg (44 lbs) lighter than its predecessor, and a significant 5 kg (11 lbs) lighter than its larger capacity brother, the 1098.
The highly advanced 848 engine uses an improved method of engine case production in which cases are vacuum die-cast formed. While providing significant weight savings of more than 3 kg (6.5 lbs), this method also ensures consistent wall thickness and increased strength. Further refinements include a sophisticated wet clutch that offers 1 kg (2.2 lbs) less weight, a much higher service life, improved clutch feel and quiet operation.
With the first twist of the wrist, the powerful rush of the Testastretta Evoluzione engine confirms that the rules have changed. The 848's 134 hp is not only 30% more powerful than its predecessor, but it provides a power-to-weight ratio even better than the potent 999.

NEW 2008 DUCATI 1098 SUPERBIKE: $15,995 MSRP
Ducati North America proudly announces North American pricing for the all new 1098 Superbike. This revolutionary motorcycle, which makes 160 horsepower and weighs 381 pounds will carry a manufacturers suggested retail price of $15,995. The 1098 S will be priced at $19,995 while the limited edition 1098 S Tri-Colore will be $24,995.
Prices in Canada will be $19,995 for standard version, while the 1098 S will be $24,995 and the Tri-Colore will be $29,995.
“We are very pleased to announce not only a radical new Superbike family, but also a brand new competitive pricing structure. We have worked long and hard to make this happen, and we are excited to launch this motorcycle at the Seattle International Motorcycle Show, which happens December 1-3” said Michael Lock, CEO of Ducati North America.

SR ROAD SAVVY AND 1000 POWER The Monster S2R 1000 is a blend of sport and character - the power of the 1000 Dual Spark engine combines with the Ducati Trellis frame and advanced suspension to pack punch and confidence into every corner. The S2R 1000 is the ideal choice for anyone who wants the 'mean' look of the SR series with Desmo2 power and the simple beauty of an air-cooled engine.
Fire-up our most powerful air-cooled Monster and feel the potent 95hp, high torque, Desmo2 1000 engine at your command. The 1000 DS engine was developed with the specific objectives of increased broad, linear power and increased efficiency, and the result is ideal for the S2R 1000. The Dual Spark solution gives a more efficient combustion and boosts power, especially at low and medium rpm, and when combined with advanced fuel injection and computer engine control, the 1000 DS never fails to thrill.
The upside-down Showa forks and ZF Sachs rear shock ensure confident road holding and are adjustable, allowing you to set up the bike to suit your personal riding style or for when you add a passenger. The high performance Brembo brake system provides the finishing touch to the biggest air-cooled Monster.
2007 DUCATI SPORTCLASSIC EARLY RELEASES
The 2007 Ducati SportClassic Family was unveiled today at the Intermot Motorcycle Show in Cologne, Germany. The SportClassic family, with its retro styling inspired by the Classic Ducati models of the 1970s, will continue to broaden its appeal with the addition of the new Sport 1000 S, as well as numerous additional improvements to the existing range.
The Sport Classic family utilizes the renowned Ducati 1000cc air-cooled L-Twin engine in all models. This engine is the perfect choice for the family as it marries the original design of the 1970s with modern features and performance. Fuel injection, electronic engine control, Desmodromic valve actuation and a dual spark head ensure this engine has plenty of torque and reliability. For 2007, the venerable motor receives the addition of a wet clutch, which will result in decreased clutch lever effort and improved longevity.
Brand new for 2007 is the Sport 1000 S, which is the spiritual successor to the limited edition Paul Smart 1000LE. This model comes with several unique features including a solid red frame, swingarm and bodywork as well as black aluminum Excel wheels and exhaust. |
The 2007 Sport 1000 receives the addition of taller clip-on bars and a lower footpeg position, which significantly improves rider comfort. For 2007, the Sport 1000 is available only as a biposto with seating for a passenger and a removable tail cowling to retain the solo seat look.
The GT 1000 is updated with a brand new two tone color scheme in addition to its traditional colors of red and grey. The new livery of the two tone metallic black and cream faithfully recalls the original design of this classic Ducati Grand Tourer.

A Monster 695 transforms a motorcyclist into a Ducatista - a rider whose motorcycle looks, feels and sounds like no other. And to make every twist of the throttle exciting, the Desmo L-Twin 695 engine impresses with its potently smooth and fluid power.
SAFETY AND CONTROL With the lowest seat height of any Ducati, the riding position of the 695 is one of comfort, control and confidence. The rider's position is more upright as hands reach to a set of raised handlebars that are wide for increased comfort and control. The footpegs strike a comfortable balance between a rearward 'sport' position and a forward relaxed sport cruiser position. All in all, a rider feels confident and in control aboard a Monster 695.
DUCATI POWER AND APTC CLUTCH The 695 Desmo L-Twin engine, with its advanced computer controlled fuel injection and a big bore, short stroke design, delivers an impressively smooth and fluid 73 hp. The 695 also respects the environment by responsibly adhering to the stringent Euro 3 clean air standards. |

The Adler Power Torque Clutch, a Ducati exclusive, makes the 695 even friendlier, safer and more comfortable. It provides a clutch pull that is amazingly light, while also including 'slipper' clutch benefits. A 'slipper' clutch, typically found on race bikes, benefits the rider by reducing the destabilizing rear wheel 'lock-up' or 'chatter' phenomenon when downshifting aggressively.
DUCATI PERFORMANCE The 695 takes full advantage of the confidence-inspiring, road-holding stability of the Ducati Trellis frame design. The Trellis frame is light, rigid and beautiful, and distinctively Ducati. Quality Marzocchi 43 mm upside-down forks and a ZF Sachs rear shock, both crafted in Italy, smooth out the bumps and add their share of poise to the 695's road manners. And for world-class stopping power and safety, high performance Brembo calipers grip twin 300 mm discs up front and a single 245 mm disc at the rear.
